alamObama Night at "Ann" Dec. 16

Looks like San Antonio Dems ARE ready for a little comedy...

The response to see "Ann," Holland Taylor's one-woman tribute to
Ann Richards, has been terrific! If you would like to join the alamObama
group for this event, here are the details:

"Ann"
7:30 pm, Thursday, Dec 16th
Charline McComs Empire Theater
226 N. St. Marys 78205
226-3333

With our group discount, tickets in the Mezzanine will be $38.25 each. This is a 10% discount and saves us the Ticketmaster fee :-) I figure the Mezzanine will be the perfect place to see/hear "Ann" while saving us an extra $10 that front row seats cost and avoiding the nosebleed section in the Balcony.

To confirm and get details about purchasing a ticket, please contact
Judy Hall and tell her how many tickets you wish by

Tribute to Ann Richards at the Empire Theatre

Hi alamObama,
How are you doing with your post-election recovery?
How about a little political, comedic relief?

Holland Taylor's one-woman tribute to Ann Richards could be just the ticket! "Ann" is coming to the McCombs/Empire Theater in December and we're looking at Thursday, Dec 16th for an alamObama group night. Not sure what the discount would be, but the regular tickets range from $37-$50...so, let's get together, reduce the cost, and laugh at the antics of one of our fearless Dem leaders :-)

Please let me know if you're available and ready for some post-election FUN!
Miss you all,

Teaming Up to Get Out the Vote

Posted on behalf of Michael Apodaca, Texas Deputy Field Director of OFA

As I mentioned we did a great job last week and this week needs to be even better. This Saturday October 2nd, we are teaming up with the Bill White Campaign to blockwalk and phonebank to our first time voters. Also, the Bill White campaign invited State Rep. Joaquin Castro to fire us up that morning. Come join Bill White volunteers to unite and reach out to first time voters.

We will start at 10am sharp at their headquarters at 3003 Broadway (on the Corner of Mulberry and Broadway). Our goal will be to spread out to other additional precincts for both Bill White and Ciro Rodriguez. When you come to the office, look for the OFA sign up table, get fired up by Rep. Castro, eat a breakfast burrito, and talk to voters (and if you don't want to blockwalk, I will have tons of phones with me to call voters). Also, come back for some food provided by Me!
Sign up at: my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/gp39lb

We almost hit 1,000 calls on Saturday alone (we missed it by 50), so this week, please join us!.

Finally, please circle October 10th in your calender (Date Change). We will have our GOTV (Get out the Vote) Planning, Phonebank and Party starting at 3pm. We will go over our plans, ask questions, learn how to talk to voters, and come together and have fun! Also bring a dish to share with others cause it a pot luck! RSVP today at:

Organizing for America SA Update

posted by Joel Mayer on behalf of Organizing for America

OFA Update by Field Director Michael Apodaca

June 5th was a huge success across the country, and here in San Antonio it was equally as successful. Over 40 volunteers took action through phone banking and canvassing first time voters, but the work towards a November victory continues.

This Saturday, June 19th, we will join other Democratic organizations and campaigns to register people to vote and have them pledge to vote in 2010.

Join us at the 2010 Juneteenth Festival from 12pm - 6pm at Comanche Park this Saturday!

Where do you meet? Our meeting spot will be at the Bill White table in the park

Shifts: Shift 1 starts at 12pm to 3pm, Shift 2 starts at 3pm - 6pm.

RSVP and more info:
http://my.barackobama.com/page/event/detail/voterregistrationdrive/gp8ty5
or contact Patricia at 210-374-1091

Starting Next Tuesday, June 22nd, we will have phonebanks every Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6:00 pm to continue to contact first time voters. We need your help to continue to contact these voters to get them out to vote in 2010.

To sign up to help us phonebank next week, go to https://spreadsheets.google.com/viewform?formkey=dGNvbHBJWHctUnB1UFVwV3ktWWhka3c6MA

We all learned from the 2008 campaign that direct voter to voter contact is the key for victory. We need your help again to move America and Texas forward!

Tell Perry and Abbott to Stop the Lawsuit Against Health Reform

Texas is now in the front line in the battle over the Health Care Reform Act. Our Texas Attorney General has filed a lawsuit to have the law declared unconstitutional. Call Governor Perry at 512-463-2000 to tell him you oppose using your tax dollars for the lawsuit against the federal government over the Health Care Reform Act. Let's tie up his phone and let him know we mean business! And while you're at it, email Texas Attorney General Bill Abbot at greg.abbott@oag.state.tx.us and give him the same message!
