Amongst all of the efforts to limit Greenhouse gas emissions going into the atmosphere, we should not lose sight of a simple way to help reduce at least the Carbon Dioxide portion, and that is to plant trees. We need to petition City and State governments to allow trees to be planted in every avaiable spot in Bexar county, and we also need to organize efforts to obtain trees to be planted. Several years ago, a local church was sponsoring a program to have 10 people adopt 10 trees; i.e. they would plant, water, and in general nurture them. I would think the Sierra Club would be in favor of something like this.
